Conference Tracks

MedLIFE-24 aims to deliver a diverse and integrative scientific program covering all aspects of life science. This includes the technical study of living organisms, such as cell biology, individual organism biology, and how these organisms interact with other species and their surroundings. Although biology remains the core focus of the life sciences, technological advances in molecular biology and biotechnology have resulted in the emergence of new specialties and cross-disciplinary areas.

The life sciences have been used in the health, medicine, and pharmaceutical industries to improve people's quality of life. In this context, MedLIFE-24 seeks to highlight the synergies and links that exist between different life science segments and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SDG 3, "ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being," is one of the 17 goals and targets that is especially pertinent to life science. It stands for the core of sustainable efforts in the field.

Within this framework, the scientific committee of the MedLIFE-24 invites submissions of research abstracts on all cross-cutting themes of life sciences, with a main focus on the following conference tracks:

  1. Agricultural Biology (Crop science, soil fertility, and pest management in agricultural ecosystems).
  2. Astrobiology (Exploration of life's origin, evolution, and distribution in the universe, including potential extraterrestrial life).
  3. Bacteriology (Study of bacteria, covering biology, genetics, ecological roles, and interactions with humans, animals, and the environment).
  4. Biotechnology (Utilizing biological systems or derivatives to develop products and technologies for diverse industries like healthcare, agriculture, and manufacturing).

  6. Bioinformatics & Biological Data Science (Utilizing biology, computer science, and statistics to analyze large-scale biological datasets, like genomic sequences and protein structures).
  7. Biolinguistics (Studying genetics, neurobiology, and cognition's influence on language acquisition and evolution).
  8. Biological Anthropology (The biological and behavioral aspects of human evolution and variation, including genetics, primatology, and paleoanthropology).
  9. Biological & Biomedical Engineering (Applying engineering principles to innovate solutions in healthcare and medical technology).
  10. Biological Oceanography (Studying marine life, ecosystems, and processes in oceans, including biodiversity, nutrient cycling, and climate change impacts).

  15. Cancer Biology & Oncology (Studying cancer cell biology, tumor development, and molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, with emphasis on diagnosis, treatment, and prevention strategies).
  16. Cell Biology (The structure, function, and behavior of cells, including cellular processes such as cell division, signaling, and organelle function).
  17. Circular Bioeconomy (Encouraging sustainable resource management and recycling to create a circular economy, minimizing environmental impact while maximizing resource efficiency).
  18. Ecology & Environmental Biology (Studying organism-environment interactions, emphasizing ecosystems, biodiversity, conservation, and human impacts on natural systems).
  19. Endocrinology (Studying hormone and endocrine gland structure and function, exploring their regulatory roles in metabolic, growth, and reproductive processes).
  20. Enzymology (Exploring enzyme structure, function, and regulation, as well as their catalytic mechanisms and versatile applications across biotechnology, medicine, and industry).

  46. Virology & Parasitology (Examining viruses and parasites, encompassing their biology, transmission, pathogenesis, and interactions with hosts, with implications for disease control and prevention).
  47. Zoology (Animals and their behavior, ecology, physiology, and evolution, encompassing diverse taxa and addressing topics such as animal diversity, conservation, and evolutionary adaptations).
